You can't save the world, but you can save a small part

KIVA.ORG

If you want to save just a little part of the world, this site might be what you are seeking.

KIVA is basically a microcredit bank soliciting for investors (us) on line.

You get to choose who you lend to and how much you lend.

Dorri (keeper of my heart) has already made a loan that has been repaid and is in the process of making another.

Its one way, a very simple and direct way, to save a small part of the planet.

Want to help?

Good stuff Walt. If we're all helping one little part of the world each, maybe we really can change the world.

I have a nice job that I enjoy alot.

You have a job where you are directly working to save the world one needy child at a time.

I am glad I can do my part, I am proud of you doing your part to directly help kids that need it all the time.

This is a GREAT organization. Everything is a risk in life, but this has taken as much risk out as you can possibly hope for.

Thanks for posting it -- you know how I am with the "one person CAN make a difference" mantra!!

Hugs to Dorrie for rocking the world with her bad self too!!

Thanks for the plug for one of my favorite organizations Walt! I made two loans and gave one to my sister as a gift. You can buy GIFT loans in someone else's name. As the loan gets paid back, the giftee gets notified each month, and they can opt to take the money at the end of the cycle, or make a new loan.
When my sister got her gift loan, she thought it was so cool SHE gave one to a friend. It is truly the gift that keeps on giving, and just in time for the holidays.

Actually you should all be thanking Dorri. She got there before me and inspired me to follow in her footsteps.
